HBC study options are designed to deepen participants' understanding of Scripture and strengthen their faith journeys. Our programs are thoughtfully chosen and prepared to meet the unique needs and interests of the people of our church, and new classes are added as the desire and need arise.  This ensures that everyone can find a meaningful and relevant study experience.  Though the line between a "Weekly Bible Study" and a Life Connect Group can be blurry, the main difference is that these weekly Bible study opportunities typically have a larger group, beyond the size of the smaller Life Connect Groups.

Short-Term Class Title: Practical Evangelism
Composition: Anyone
Teacher: Chris Canuel
Room: Fellowship Hall
Time: Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m.

Our purpose in life as Christians is twofold-- to know Christ and to make Him known.  If one is a Christian, then it's to be assumed he or she knows Christ (though we can never really know Him well ENOUGH this side of Heaven-- it's a lifelong pursuit). But the "making Him known" part-- well, this is where many Christians struggle.  How exactly is the best way to do that?  There is no "right" way, but there are tools and tips that will aid in more meaningful interactions in sharing one's faith-- and that's where this class comes in.

Week 1 - Foundations/Common Questions and Objections
Week 2 - The Power of our Testimonies & Building Relationships
Week 3 - Evangelism Everyday: Lifestyle Evangelism
Week 4 - Sharing the Gospel with Family & Friends

Class Title: The Great Disappearance
Composition: Adult Women
Teacher: Joan McGinnis
Room: Fellowship Hall
Time: Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. (Seasonal)

A convenient morning Bible study for women whose schedules don't allow for the typical evening options.  The women's ministry regularly offers new studies on a very regular basis.

Series Overview: Though we talk about the Rapture, we don't often know much about it. How will it affect us? How should it motivate us in the life in which we live today? Will it happen before or after the Tribulation? In The Great Disappearance, Dr. David Jeremiah presents fascinating glimpses of hope and insight into this next event on God's prophetic calendar. From this study, participants will find inspiration and motivation to live with a greater purpose as we reach the world with this urgent message.

Children (K-5th Grades) follow the same schedule as the rest of the church with dinner being served from 5:30-6:15 p.m. and activities/studies from 6:15-7:15 p.m.

Children enjoy Children's Choir practice for the first half hour each Wednesday night, followed by Bible activities and Bible lessons.  Beginning in Fall 2024, the children's ministry will be using the Baptist Catechism for Children as the guide for teaching on Wednesday nights.  What's a "catechism," though?

Catechism comes from the Greek word, katekeo, which simply means, "to instruct."  The word has come to be known as a style of instruction that teaches the essentials of the Christian faith.  Most catechisms are based on a creed or statement of belief with a format being a series of memorized answers to specific question. This catechism is based upon historic baptist beliefs in the heritage of the First and Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1644 & 1689). It is an adaptation of The Baptist Catechism which was first published in the 1600s as an adaptation of the Westminster Shorter Catechism. The words and language have been further modernized and adapted for use by young children. It has been published previously as "The Catechism for Boys and Girls" by Carey Publications.

The benefits of this catechism include aid in reading the Bible theologically, incorporating the question in the answer so that as children memorize the answer they also know the question, answers that are thorough but memorable, answers that are age appropriate, and a framework for theological education in the home.
