What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

At Hampstead Baptist Church, we believe life is found in knowing Jesus Christ and walking with
Him. Everything we do is centered on His Word, His gospel, and His glory. That's why our church
motto is simple:
God's Glory, Our Good.
We gladly affirm the Baptist Faith and Message of 2000 as our statement of faith. While no brief
statement can express everything we believe, these convictions shape who we are.
We believe the Bible is God's inspired, trustworthy, and sufficient Word. Through the
Scriptures, God has revealed Himself, His plan of redemption, and His Son, Jesus
Christ. Because God has spoken, we want His Word to shape everything we believe,
everything we teach, and everything we do.
We believe there is one true and living God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who created all
things for His glory. Though sin has separated us from God, He has made a way of salvation
through Jesus Christ, who lived the life we could never live, died in our place, rose bodily from
the grave, reigns today as Lord, and will one day return to make all things new.
We believe the gospel is not simply the beginning of the Christian life; it is the foundation for
the whole of it. By God's grace, He is continually transforming His people to become more like
Christ.
Our desire is to be a church where Christ is treasured, God's Word is faithfully proclaimed,
families are strengthened, children and students are discipled, neighbors are loved, and every
generation is encouraged to know, trust, and follow Jesus.
We don't pretend to have it all together. We're ordinary people who have found extraordinary
grace in an extraordinary Savior. Together we're learning to love God more deeply, love one
another more faithfully, and live in a way that points others to Christ.
Everything we do flows from one simple conviction: God is worthy of our worship, and our
greatest joy is found in Him. That's what we mean when we say, "God's Glory. Our Good.
