Sunday School is and has been an integral part of Christian discipleship in the church for many, many years.  At Hampstead Baptist Church, we have classes for all ages.  We are thankful for our Sunday School Director, Mr. Charles Turner, who serves and guides our Sunday School ministry.  All classes meet from 9:00-10:00 a.m. weekly.

Composition: Birth-Age 3
Teacher: Meredith Canuel (and Lea Lesink)
Room: 304

The nursery ministry at Hampstead Baptist Church offers a loving, safe, nurturing environment designed to care for the youngest of the congregation-- members and guests.  It's a place where infants and toddlers can be entrusted, allowing their parents to participate in church activities and services with peace-of-mind, knowing their children are well-cared-for in a spiritually nurturing environment.  Our experienced volunteers create a welcoming space with age-appropriate toys, books, and activities that foster the children's development. It's not just about babysitting; it's about creating an atmosphere where children feel valued and where their early experiences with the church community are positive and enriching.
Class: "Bananas for Jesus" (Youth)
Composition: 6th-12th Grade
Teacher: Cindy Justice
Room: The Upper Room (see description)
See Class Description
The "Bananas for Jesus" class is legendary for its famed Chiquita Bananas stickers for all its participants (and the special PINS for those with benchmarks made).  As "bananas" as it may seem, the class (younger and older) is endeared and excited about it.  Ms. Cindy has a knack for storytelling and connecting with people of all ages, especially teenagers and pre-teens.  This class follows The Gospel Project for Students curriculum, studying Genesis-Revelation on a holistic level, from start to finish.

The "Upper Room" is above the sanctuary, with the entrance to the left of the baptistry.

Class: Truth Seekers
Composition: "Middle Adult" Co-ed
Teacher: Teresa Shepard
Room: 208
See Class Description
This class follows The Gospel Project: Chronological (for Adults).  It is a three-year cycle that covers the entire Bible from Genesis through Revelation.  Though there are other Sunday School classes who cover this same material, this class is co-ed and has adults who most might consider "middle adults" (i.e. not young marrieds or senior adults, but somewhere in between), for those seeking to study the Bible among that demographic.
Class: Preschool
Composition: Birth-Age 4
Teacher: Lea Lesink (and Meredith Canuel)
Room: 302
See Class Description
The preschool and nursery classes sometimes overlap, as flexibility is sometimes necessary for the best experience of those involved.  Ms. Lea uses The Gospel Project for Preschool for the preschoolers' class.

Composition: Senior Adult Co-ed
Teachers: Joan McGinnis & James Torrence

Class: Men's Class
Composition: Adult Men
Teachers: Chris Canuel
Room: 205
See Class Description
The adult men's class engages in verse-by-verse exposition, journeying through entire books of the Bible with a keen focus on understanding each verse in its rich, historical context. Participants dive deep into the historical contexts of the passages, and explore how each verse weaves into the broader story of Scripture. Studies often extend into topical discussions, specifically tailored to be relevant to men's lives and challenges. This class isn't intended to just about learning; it's about fellowship and prayer, and creating a strong brotherhood rooted in Christ. Whether new to or experienced in Bible study, this class offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding and connect with other men on a similar spiritual journey.
