Women's Ministry

"A gracious woman gains honor."  ~Proverbs 11:16a

We are delighted to extend a warm invitation to all women seeking a nurturing community where faith flourishes, service abounds, and bonds are formed that last a lifetime.

The HBC Women's Ministry is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth through a variety of enriching activities. From Bible studies and prayer groups to workshops and retreats, we provide opportunities for women to deepen their relationship with God and each other. Whether you're a seasoned believer or just beginning your spiritual journey, there's a place for you here to grow and thrive.

Service is at the heart of our ministry. We believe in putting our faith into action by serving those in need within our church family, local community, and beyond. Whether it's volunteering, collecting needed items, or participating in mission trips, we are committed to making a positive difference in the world around us.

But it's not all about serious business here! We also value the importance of recreation and fellowship. Our ministry offers a range of fun activities where women can come together to relax, unwind, and build lasting friendships. Together, let's grow in faith, serve with love, and enjoy the blessings of sisterhood in Christ.

New women are also invited to Room 208 at 9:00, prior to the Tuesday Morning Bible Study, for a time of group prayer.
  • On Sundays, women are invited to consider one of two different Sunday School discipleship options specifically for women.  Click here for more.

Serving Others

The women of HBC are involved in a number of mission projects throughout the year.

  • For several years, HBC Women have donated funds to purchase food for the residents of a Children’s Home in Southeast Asia ($500 per month).
  • Each month, a mid-day meal is provided for families with loved ones at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare/Hospice.
  • On the first and second Wednesday of each month, some of the HBC ladies assist in leading a time of devotion and hymn-singing at a local assisted living facility.
  • In October, HBC Women collect toboggans, winter gloves, socks, and puzzles to be delivered to the Seamen’s Center for distribution to those who arrive in the port of Wilmington during the month of December. The seamen are also provided Bibles in their own language.
  • In November, HBC Women prepare and deliver "Sunshine Baskets" to shut-ins within our community.
  • HBC Women participate in the Red Box campaign to provide gifts of toiletries and other items for women incarcerated in North Carolina prisons.
  • HBC Women sponsor the Hampstead Baptist Church Angel Tree, inviting church members and visitors to assist in meeting the wishes and needs of local families during the Christmas season.

Fellowship & Fun

HBC Women study the Bible & serve others-- but they (& their guests) also have fun together!

This is only a snapshot of the ministries in which the HBC Women are involved.  Sometimes the women's ministry embarks upon a craft project which will bless others (flower arrangements for a local assisted living facility; making bracelets for cancer patients; etc.).

On the third Tuesday of each month, the women's ministry participants all go to lunch together and celebrate birthdays.

New women are always welcome.  It is not necessary to be a member of Hampstead Baptist Church to participate in the group.
